Blitz

Tue, Aug 13, 2013 at 1:21 PM

Hey all,

Today we went the temple so we didn't have p-day yesterday it got moved to today! The new video is good. I liked it! I was so happy to go to the temple it was nice just be in there. You could feel the spirit so strong just by being on the grounds of the temple. We have been in the finding mode this and last week. We don't really have anyone solid to teach. But that is okay we are still working hard and blessing peoples lives. Our song on Sunday went okay and I ended up being a minute man and gave a youth talk. Oh and our ward mission leader is now making a list of thing I say wrong! Just like the one on the fridge at home! We had a blitz on Saturday.  All the missionaries in our zone came to our area and knocked on lots of doors and talked to people on the street to help us find people. It went well. We will see if we can get some investigators from it. I can't believe that it time for those boy's to go! time goes so fast! Yeah for huckleberries!!! I'm glad that there are some this year. Ashlee's driving - THAT'S CRAZY!!! But cool! well happy to hear that everyone is well.  Love you all!

Baptism

Hey loved ones!
This week has sure been different we helped at a funeral and had a baptism in the same day saw some weird things that I hope I won't ever have to see again and I know now how not to fill a font! But before I tell you about the baptism I want to tell you about this girl we met.
She is about 14 and her name is Jaden. She is Ashlee's age and about to go into high school. We were walking down the street and  saw her with her dog we stopped a talked with her for a little bit and at the end we asked if we could pray with her and if there was something in mind that we could pray for her. She said "pray that I can have the strength to be a good girl and not get lost in the bad things that happens in high school." I was so happy to hear that she wants to be a good girl and I hope and pray that we can help her be that good girl!
Our baptism Saturday was a little different. We had started to fill the font up two hours before but the plug was not working. Some elders came to help us and got it plugged.(so we thought) We went on our merry way. The water was going all the way till the baptism started. We had the opening song and talk and it was time for the baptizing but when they had opened the doors half of the water had drained out. But they were going to baptize him anyways! Just so you know he is not a small guy! They had him lay down in the water and the brother who was baptizing him was trying to get his belly under the water, then some other limb would pop up! They finally added more water and were able to baptize him after that. Over all, it was a good baptism, lots of ward members came to support him and he is now a member of the church. My companion and a sister in the ward and I sang a song at the baptism. It was good.
Sister Andelin loves to sing so we sing a lot! We will be singing in church next Sunday we will see how it goes Sister Andelin thought it would be a good idea if for part of it I sang a solo I don't know how it feel about that. Music is a great way to bring the spirit. There is something special the music brings and it's awesome! The work goes forth and I am blessed to be able to help it! Love you all!

                                                                                                         Till we write again,

Exchange

Hey All,

This week has been great! Keith is still on for this saturday. He has been taught since the middle of May. This last Tuesday I got to go on exchanges. It was lots of fun. I got to be in a trio for a day. The sisters were so cool. I love them. I definitely learned how to be more loving towards others that I meet on the street. Something that the Lord keeps on teaching me and reminding me is that I need to give it my all, every day ,so I can prove to the Lord that He can trust me with His work. And put prepared people in my path to help them come closer to Christ. This week we went by a potential investigator and thinking that we would just get the door slammed in our face but when this lady saw us she was really excited and talked to us for a good 45 minutes. She kept on saying, "tell me more." It was so neat to be able to talk to her and feel the Spirit. She kept on telling us that she felt lost and in my mind I knew that we could help her find the path and that this gospel is the way to get back to our Heavenly Father. What a great blessing it is to know that we have that knowledge today. I am so blessed to be out here helping others find that way. I love this mission and the people and my companion. We have lots of laughs. And the work is great. Love you all. Sounds like there are lots of adventures going on. And everyone stay off the sidewalks! You guys are the best!

It's been two months

Hey everyone! This week has been good! Nothing to exciting happened. One cool thing that happened was we were walking down a street when we crossed paths with two guys. They saw that we were missionaries and one of them said that he was just baptized in a church! He then asked if we were Mormons and we talked with him for a little bit and ended up making a return appointment! We were able to teach him the first lesson. He wanted to read the Book of Mormon. But we have to give him to the singles ward Elders, but that is okay. The work is great and I love the people here! Also today is the day I went in to the MTC two months ago. Crazy! Some days it feels like I have been out longer and others seem like it has not been that long! Time mostly flies when you're having fun! Here are some pics hope you like then!!!! love you All! till we write again, Sister Henderson

Another Baptism

Hey, this weeks has been a good one. Our investigator Keith has set the date to be baptized on August 3rd! Happy day!!! Transfers are tomorrow and me and my companion are staying together, we are glad about that! We are trying to find others to teach, and not much luck but that is okay we are still doing our best. I love the members in this ward they are the best!!!! they do missionary work all the time and love to tell us the stories! Also this week there was this young family that wanted to have their baby blessed and we got to be there for that. They are not members and are so nice. We are going to go by sometime to give them a Family Proclamation. We will see how it goes. The work goes on and so do we. Love you all and thanks for all the prayers, Till we write again, Sister Henderson

July 4th One Month in the Field

hey Y'all this week has been really slow, not much happened on the 4th. Lots of people were down on the beach drunk. We hear it gets bad down there. It was a normal working day for us. we have been doing a lot of tracking and knocking of doors. Not much success. But we still are working hard. That's so cool about [seeing L Tom Perry at] Bear Lake. It sounded like some fun things happened! Transfers are next week but I don't think it will be too eventful for me. I'm still in training. The new president is great. I'm happy he's here. He seems to be a really great man and his wife is a really sweet lady. The Lord teaches me so much on how to be better in every part of my life! I love this work and this is the best thing I could be doing in my life right now! love you all! till we write again, sister henderson

Baptism

We have a new member of the church! Sabreena (she told us this is how her name is spelled) got baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. Her family did come, and she was so happy that they were there! As of right now we have one investigator, and we are having a hard time finding new ones. But we are working on having more faith in finding. We got a new President on Saturday and will be meeting him tomorrow, and yes he is from Wyoming. The 4th is my month mark in the field. It feel like I got here last week. Time seems to fly by when you're doing the lords work! I love the mission so much! every day I get to see the Lord's hand in my life and in the life of others! It seems like every one is doing well and having lots of fun! I'm so blessed to have a loving family. keep up the good work!
