Great Blessing

HI!!!
This last week was good. We are starting to find more people to teach. At the beginning of the week we went to see an inactive member.  We have tried by many times but this time she was home she is super nice and a really happy person. She introduced herself and asked if we were missionary's. She did not know that sisters did proselyting missions like the Elders. She thought that sisters just worked at church sites and/or visitor centers. She thought it was nice that we were out serving. Then she asked us if we could come teach her daughters about the gospel! So we set up the time to come back when both of her daughters would be there. We taught them on Wednesday and taught the plan of salvation. Sister White (their mom) asked if we could start with that lesson. Sister White has two daughters Sammy (15) and Maddy (13) they are great girls. Maddy reminds me a little bit of Ashlee. They had so many questions and listened to everything we said. Sister White was even helping us out with some of what she could remember, we also had a young woman that came with us that was a great help. We are going back tonight to teach the restoration. I love these girls and pray that their minds will continue to be open and they can know of the truth. The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the biggest blessing in this life, to have guidelines that help us make it back home. Love you all so much!

Miracles

Hi this week has been super crazy! But good. today we got to go to the temple, we had the 5:30 am session at the LA temple so we were up by 3. Sister Bowles got 4 hours of sleep last night. I'm thinking I'll be feeling that later! but it is so worth it to go to the temple and just be there. this last week it felt like we were every where but our area. there was a set of sister's in our zone that were having a hard time with some things at home. so we spent some time with them to lift there spirits. we also had exchanges, and had to go to the mission office one day. but despite all that we have still been able to see miracles this week. so we went by this less active member and her family is not members and she asked if we could come teach her daughters. and we will be meeting with then this Wednesday. I will be sending a letter in the mail. i love you all so much.

Working Hard

Hi
I'm glad that everyone is surviving.  Well this week has been good and hard, We have been working hard.  Every time I sit down I want to fall asleep. but all this hard work has been paying off we have found many new people this that want to learn the gospel. One of them came to church.  Sad thing happened.  Gia called us and told us she does not want to meet with us anymore.  My heart dropped when she told us. I know how much the gospel can bless her. But no time to dwell.  There are others that are ready now to hear our message. We still see her and talk to her because she lives with less actives that we go see. I know that the Lord is in control and it's all in his timing.  We just need to be patient and trust that good things will come. Sorry it's short this week and every week but I want you to know that I love you lots and pray for you always!

New Year New Investigator

Mon, Jan 6, 2014 at 4:18 PM

Dear family,
I'm glad every one is starting the new year off with adventures. This last week was super great. The first day of the new year started out great! We found someone to teach! How it happened was there is this program that our ward is doing "called we can do this." It's a list of 50 different things that people can do to get more missionary minded. And one of the things on there is to introduce yourself to someone at church that you don't know. And one of the members in our ward picked that one to do, and she did it. She told us how it went. There was a less active member that came to church that day and that was the person she introduced her self to. She told us who he was. We didn't know him so we went by. When we did he was super nice and was trying to get active again. So we ask if we could come buy and teach the lessons to him and he agreed. But in this home there is this young lady that is not a member and is going to have a baby in 4 months her name is Gia she's Italian. when we went by to give the lesson part of the family sat in on the lesson and so did Gia. the lesson wasn't starting off as well as it could have but by the end the spirit was there and Gia agreed to keep taking the lessons! This all started because a member said hi to someone at church. I know that by small and simple thing are great things brought to pass.(Alma 37:6) This week we have been sharing the restoration with as many people as possible. Members, nonmembers, and less actives. I Know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I also know that he did see God the Father and The Son, the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. love you all!

My E-mailing time got switched I don't know if it will stay this way or not. Transfers are tomorrow and both Sister Bowles and I are staying put. I also found out that this transfer will be a 7 week transfer. This will be fun! so our friend Rich our new member of the church his daughter was in town for the holydays and we got to meet her she is fun and I just love her we talked to her about what she believe and what see thought about her dad being a member. she is a sophomore in high school. she didn't know what to say really about the hole thing but she has seen the change for the better in her dad. That she liked! it was fun to see then together I think some day she will join but it is going to take some time.
So we went by this inactive member this week she is supper nice she let us in her home. she loves the church and loves what values the church has her husband is catholic and really nice. after we were done she even drove us to our dinner appointment. we are going to keep working with her and see if we can get her back to church. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

This past week has gone by so fast. I just don't know where the days went. It feels every week goes faster and faster. We had a Christmas zone Conference that was super great. We got to watch the Christmas devotional and watch parts of the living Christ. It was super great and allowed me to have more of appreciation for our Savior.  I love this time and season and how many hearts are softened. People tended to have more charity towards one another. Thanks to all the letters and cards I loved them lots. Lyle's fam, Layne's fam, the Davies, sorry it's short. I'll talk to you in two days!!! And I'll be calling you more around 12 your time. Lots lof love!
