Heart Break

Hi. I don't know if I ever want to live this week ever again. DJ told us he didn't want to meet with us again. It broke my heart. But that's okay. I'm going to focus on the good just for my own sanity. We met this girl named Elijah she is sweet. We taught to her how praying to God can help us be happy. She told us that most of the time she just puts on a fake smile so that no one can know that she is really sad. We asked if we could come back and talk to her again and invited her to pray every day before we meet again. She is 15 and didn't know how to pray so we taught her how and she said she would do it. When we came back some thing was different about her something good. She had a real smile on her face and was truly happy to see us! We taught part of the first lesson and as we did her smile got brighter. She told us she was having a bad day before we came but as soon as she saw us it made her day. She told us she was praying and each time got easer to pray. We told her there are ways she could feel happy even when we are not there. Through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. She was staying with her sister for a few weeks and would be going back to Garden Grove at the end of the week. We told her to find the missionaries over there and they will help her be happy.
I am so thankful that I am here and get to help others feel of God's love. I love you so much!

Blessed

Hi,
This week has been just as crazy! but good. Oh my, congrats to DJ!!!!! I get home the day before he leaves! Crazy that is not too far off. So funny thing - we have an investigator named DJ and he is super!!! We set a date for him to be baptized on September 7th. He knows this needs to be the next step in his life!
Sister Pendleton is from Mapleton Utah. I love this area a lot and despite all the craziness the Lord has truly blessed us. We are finding many people and they are truly prepared. I love my mission it has been the best choice I could have made. All the people I have met and come to love.
Way to win the blue ribbon. I'm going to have to try some of this blue ribbon cobbler some day! Good luck with school every one, and mom. I love you lots.

Whittier

Hi,
Sorry we Email earlier now. Hope the lodge was fun! This week was super fun and long. We whet on two exchanges this week. It felt like I wasn't even in my area for half of the time. But that's okay. I got to know more of the sisters in our mission that I didn't know very well. One may be a roommate at school!
So yesterday we met this man that was missing a few marbles. It was a little scary/ funny but we luckily had a brother from the ward with us. But this man was telling us that we were going to burn, then the next second he decided that I was the one for him and wanted me for his bride. I told him I was already taken and we got out of there. The Church is true and God loves you! Sorry this is super short but I love you all so much!

Oh life is good

Hi,
It's sad to hear about great Aunt Wanda. I think she's great.
Well this transfer has been super good. Yes it means we have less time to work in our area. I just Love my companion she is a super star! This week has been crazy busy and fun. It also has been super hot and humid even more so than in the last area. Whittier is the hottest place in our mission! I don't think I have ever sweat so much in my life. But loving every second of it. There is a lot of great things going on over here. This week we had dinner with this family were the mom is a member and her husband and daughter are not. They are a fun family. We asked if we could teach them the lessons and they agreed. It will be great to see this family grow.
Really cute story we were biking along and saw this lady with her grandson in the front lawn. We stopped to talk to them. We asked her if she knew of any one that needed a message of hope. She looked around and then pointed to her grandson. Told us he needed one. He is 6 years old. She told us that his dad had to leave for two years and would have no contact with him. He was in the blues about that. But it was really neat to talk with him, and talk about Gods love for us and how we can feel it. By the time we were done he was much happier about things. The grandma thanked us and told us that God does his work through people, and she knew that God had sent us at that time. I know that as we do our best we are in the right place at the right time. The Lord is truly blessing us in this work! I love you all and have lots of fun at the lodge for me okay! OH check out the new mormon massage on lds.org it's a good one and everyone needs to see it!!!!!!!
